I'm making a strongish golden ale with some of the special aromatic malt I just got. I don't know what I'm calling it yet.

Having some propane troubles today but its a beautiful sunny brew day in the marsh today. I have about 40min left on the boil of a no-sparge small stout I whipped up using inspiration from designing great beers (Daniels). This is my first time doing no-sparge, so far I like it. I under estimated my efficiency by 8 points and over estimated my grain absorption by about 2/3 of a gal but I think its going to turn into one really nice stout. I saved some spent grains for crackers and the extra wort for some bread. The wort tastes incredible, here's hoping I hop it right.

Going to Brew up a Kolsch and some Harvey's Bitter on Saturday with JT and Sanitarium. JT is going to add some blueberries to his Kolsch so that will be an interesting twist and I'm going to try and ferment mine with a slurry of Wyeast 2112.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Started out with:

Happily bubbling away in the spare shower.

I'll be transferring a Russian Imperial Stout to secondary tomorrow. It's the extract recipe available from Noble Grape, has anyone else tried this yet?

Good to know, any ones that you particularly favoured? I've tried the 1820 IPA and the Honey Brown so far.

I'll probably go with the Raspberry Wheat after the RIS, it'll be a nice refreshing change for what will hopefully be some warmer days in our near future.

Tomorrow I'm going to brew a Flanders Red and Saturday, something super, super dry to blend with a doppelbock that finished way too high (1.030, tastes decent but like there was a tablespoon of dme dumped in). Never tried brewing to blend before so we'll see how it goes!

Is the DB still on yeast?
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:
