Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
Just finished a wake & bake stout. It came out a few points shy at 1.083 vs 88, but Im happy with it.
Also got 22L instead of 19, but its too black to tell how much trub is in there!

Basically nothing for hops: 1 oz of chinook. The coffee will bitter it up a little more.

This evening, PEIBeerGuy and I brewed 44L of Winter Warmer for the PEI Double Barrel project. First time making a beer with molasses and/or spices. The hydrometer sample was tasting fantastic!

My gravity is high, way high.
I had mash temp troubles due to the winds.
Hope it works out.

It'll be fine. I'm looking at it as a fun project rather than an experiment. Besides seeing a difference between all the hop varieties, it will be interesting to see the differences that 15 brewers got with the sane recipe.GAM wrote:My gravity is high, way high.

Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
Just did up the meeting idea brew. First time Ive ever been over on both OG & volume! It was only by 2 points, and 1.5 L, but it still counts!

Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
Hmmm, more OG and volume, so your extraction was better. Any equipment or technique changes? If so, maybe you can adjust your target efficiency for next time, and get away with a little less grain (money in your pocket).

Picked apples outside of Wolfville today for making cider later in the week. Really wish I had a fruit press.

Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
If you could design, or find a design, maybe we could make one.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.
