WLP590 French Saison Yeast

Post by Halifax_Jeff » Wed Aug 10, 2016 11:32 pm

Anyone use this yeast? My understanding is that it's very similar to wyeast 3711.

Pitched some into my first saison today and curious what I should expect!

I'm not sure if it's the same as 3711, but I have my first 3711 beer on tap now and it's kinda strange - it dries way out taste-wise, but still has a lot of body (or at least the perception of it). Googling around suggests it produces a fair bit of glycerin.

I've used wlp566 and it's really good. Super fruity.
