Missed the flaked oats in latest recipe

I was brewing a NEIPA over the weekend and at the end of the brew day realized I missed adding the flaked oats to milled grain.

Now with this adjunct being important in a NEIPA, is it possible to do mini mash with the flaked oats and some 2 row, boil to sanitize then add it to the secondary? I know it will dilute the beer somewhat as well, I am more looking for mouthfeel and head retention then fermentables.

I've never run into this before and am not sure this would provide me with the characteristics I was looking for from the flaked oats.

Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I think your best bet would be to just enjoy your IPA as it is.

That's I was thinking, I was just being particular and hoping I could get the oats in! Oh well!

If your experience is the same as the guy at Brulosophy, then it is quite possible that the lack of oats will literally make no discernible difference (aside from the lower gravity).
