How are people filtering their brewing water?

Not me. I did it once or twice. Seems like too much trouble for what made no noticeable difference to my beer.

I don't. I use tap water and let the chlorine boil off.

What do people use for top up water from partial mash or extract brewing? I used to use bottled water to top up my mash, but lately have been using just plain cold tap water. I haven't noticed much of a difference personally, still seem to be getting the results I'm looking for.

I can't really comment for top up water, but I use a half campden tablet per 5gal of any brewing water I use and let it sit dissolved for at least an hour. Have never had any issues with chlorine flavors or anything.

I assume this would be a fine solution for top up water too (maybe give a quick boil to sterilize).

That said, I also have no way to measure my chlorine/chloramine levels so I couldn't say whether it does anything or not.

i use well water in Mt Uniacke from my drilled well. Comes from 250 feet underground, lots of arsenic adds a certain flavour profile!

no, seriously, i really do. everything but the arsenic part. never had a problem yet!

I have a $20-30 or so Chlorine / Cloramine filter plumbed into my brew space. I build water profiles up from Dartmouth city water using Beersmith.

I looked at carbon filtering but wound up just going with sodium metabisulphite powder to dechlorinate on the homebrew scale.

Pretty much 100% RO water for me. Calgary water is hard as fuck.
