How long will a keg last before carbonating

Post by Cheesehead » Tue Jul 18, 2017 10:30 pm

I inherited a keg from a friend of friend who has recently moved away and didnt have room to bring it. Im not sure how old it is, at least 6 months if not several months more. How long can you wait to carbonate a keg and still have it be drinkable?

If it isn't carbonated, is it sealed? I would guess that air has been getting in for six months.

nothing special done just the usual cover. Was expecting Id be dumping it, more about getting the keg itself

I'd say chill it and taste it if its drinkable then carb it. its always a shame to dump a keg.
