Leaky Perlick faucet

Post by mckay75 » Tue Sep 12, 2017 10:41 am

Has anyone ever had any issues with their Perlick taps (525) leaking? One of mine just recently seems to not want to seal properly after pouring a pint. I've cleaned it to make sure it wasn't dirty, but it still drips. I caught it in time the other evening when I went to refill my glass and about a pints worth had dripped out. Good thing I caught it!

Is it possible to replace the inside seal on these things?

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Talk to Dave @ Everwood. He can provide you with a seal replacement kit. :cheers2:

I was into Everwood on Saturday and the guy working wasn't sure about a repair kit. Good to know they exist...I'll have to see if they can order me one. I picked up a new Intertap faucet while I was there.

I have two that just started leaking as well. I lost a gallon or so of a precious NE IPA a few weeks ago. I subsequently broke down the taps and cleaned them thoroughly but they're still dripping. I'll have to check in with Dave too.

When I got some new seals, Dave had them individually (before the move). I also don't think they were in the system, so may have to email Dave to get some info on them.
