Anyone brewing soon that wouldn’t mind an All Grain newbie to sit in?

Post by chalmers » Tue Oct 03, 2017 1:29 pm

Hiya!

While volunteering at the Cask Throwdown table, I took the email address of someone looking to make the move from kits to All Grain (maybe BIAB), but he was hoping to sit in on a brew day to see it all in action.

Would anyone be brewing this weekend or next mind another body or two to sit in on the brewday? Stupidly, I did not find out where he is located, but do have his email address.

Cheers!

Not a problem, not sure how soon I'll be brewing again(maybe weekend after this one), but I'd be more than happy to help someone out
On tap: Hopped Mead, ESB, Schwazbier
Coming up: Altbier
Fermenting: Maibock
Planned: NEIPA, NZ Pils, Oyster Stout

Hoping to brew in the next few weeks. Not sure if I'd scare the guy off it or not lol.

Thanks Kevin and Keith, I'll fire you his info via 4-way email.

And we may have another new guy pipe up: also met him Saturday, and he was excited to learn about us and get into brewing after talking about it for a while. His girlfriend/wife already had the non-brewing-spouse eyeroll down perfectly.

You just have to get the spouse liking craft beer then the eye roll turns into a nag, when are you brewing again lol

They could always try the "homebrewing will mean that I spend less money on beer" trick. That works for a little while.

On the bright side, a homebrewing spouse is very easy to shop for when Christmas/birthday/father's day roll around. Although if you also brew, it can feel an awful lot like you're using that as an excuse to shop for yourself :)
On Tap at The Frisky Lemur Pub: Pumpkin Spice Ale; Frisky Lemur IPA; ESB; CranApple Cider; RazBerliner
Fermenting/Conditioning/Bottled: Joyeux Noel Holiday Spiced Ale; NEIPA
On Deck: Altbier; NEIPA; Oatmeal Stout
