Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
Anybody got anything on the go this weekend? Chalmers and I will be brewing up a Blackberry Porter and IIPA (1.082, 244 IBU's)
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Planning on doing a couple of beers back to back this weekend. Chocolate Espresso Stout, followed by a black IPA.

Sean and I finally did our saison. The yeast was anaemic in the starter but took off once in the primary fermenter. Unfortunately it won't be ready in time for Christmas as we had planned.

We're comfortable for this batch, but I expect we'll be doing another. If you have some you don't need I'll take them.

Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
Friday (Saturday if there's no school Friday) my brew session is inspired by the Arrogant Bastard clone from the Brewing Network's Can You Brew It.
I cut my recipe back to an anticipated 6.5% and ~75 IBU and significantly reduced the amount of Special B.

Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
We usually brew 2 at a time and end up mashing the second brew while the first is boiling. It only takes us an extra hour so it works out pretty sweet. Good luck Tim.

Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
It's bottle conditioning as I type. I added some oak to it in secondary so we'll see where that leads it
