Re: What's everyone brewing?
Mashed in on an American Red ale at lunch. Will finish the brew once I get home after work.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Harvested Fuggle and Cascade hops from my back yard and brewed a 45% Wheat, 45% Pale, 10% light crystal APA. Threw in some Sumac for good measure. Hoping to get a bit of lemon from the Sumac.

Re: What's everyone brewing?
Just waiting for an all pilsner malt lager to get to pitching temp in the fridge. Trying out the Loral hops that Dave brought in. Hoping 1oz at 20 minutes will give me enough flavour to taste what this hop has to offer.

Re: What's everyone brewing?
Brewed up a wet hopped IPA last night with 1.5 kg of (Cascade maybe?) hops from a friend's backyard. Threw in an ounce of Warrior for bittering. Hope it's as good as last year's. Hops looked a little past their prime when we got them.

Bottled up an APA in which I used my own hops (first harvest!) for aroma. I used Warrior for bittering. Definitely needs some aging time.

First brew day with the new set up, only sprayed the garage twice and clogged the pump once, but mashing is underway haha.

Re: What's everyone brewing?
After a four month brewing hiatus, I've mashed in on a Special Bitter. It's a beautiful morning out there.

Re: What's everyone brewing?
I brewed an IPA today. I sort of brewed two, actually. It was my first time using my new lauter grant, a 5.5 gallon SS Brewtech kettle. I don't have an HLT so this lets me hold my first runnings while I pump my sparge water into my mash tun. It's also a vessel that I can then pump out of, instead of lifting and pouring ~4+ gallons of hot sweet wort into the kettle from a plastic bucket. I will also be using it as my bottling bucket and my small batch stovetop kettle, which is how I justified the purchase...to myself, anyway
Long story short, I did something stupid in placing the grant while I was pumping to the kettle and sure enough it tipped over and spilled all but about 1.5 gallons of my first runnings all over the deck. After the initial shock I was able to get it together and was mashed in on a second attempt about an hour later. Hit my numbers, wort tasted great, and I was pretty happy.
I started the day without a name for this beer (new recipe). But it's definitely going to be called Lessons Learned IPA.

Brewed my Vienna lager for the December exchange. Hit the numbers I was looking for and it's currently fermenting nicely at 12C.

Brewed up a milk stout tonight. Plan on adding roasted coconut and vanilla when I keg. Nothing better than the first stout of the fall.

Sorry to hear of the troubles. Can you do a step by step of your process. I am in the midst of a change up my self and process/time savings are a priority.
I have gone to 30 min boil. I may have a higher tolerance for DMS than most! I can do 20-25l in a little over 3 hours.

Re: What's everyone brewing?
Brewed a pale ale last night...test driving some hops i've never used before...belma and huell melon...and tossed some azacca in for good measure. Split the batch...half got wlp644 and the other got the dregs from a beer I built up that had brett in it. Not sure what to expect out of this one.

I did a Goose Island IPA Clone about 2 weeks ago. Just dried hopped with 2 oz of Cascade.
