Just pitched yeast to “Vagabond Gingered Ale” from The Complete Joy of Homebrewing. This is the second time I’m making it; last time it turned out great.

I did a 10 gallon batch of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone on Monday, divided it into 2 carboys, pitched one packet of US-05 in one and one packet of Voss Kveik in the other. OG was 1.050 with nutrient. The Voss carboy started bubbling almost immediately and by morning had foamed up through the airlock so I replaced it with a blowoff tube. It's starting to slow down now, just a 'blorp' or two every minute. I'm holding it at 70F with a heatwrap. The US-05 carboy took a day but is now fermenting nicely through the airlock.

I brew extract beer in the winter and do a partial mash to use up crystal/specialty malts I seem to collect in my cupboard.

Yes I’ve done a couple extracts that were top notch. I still have some kicking around to cook up.

It was fine, the brew went smoothly. The boil was a little light, and my efficiency lower than my e-herms system but cleanup was faster and I liked that the connect BT app allow me to go do other things while waiting for stuff to get to temperature. Overall I like it and it takes up no space at all. It's now my official pilot brewery :) .
