Does anyone use a stainless steel false bottom in their kettle to filter hops and if so how well does it work? I currently use a hop spider and I am considering changing to the false bottom.

I picked up one a few weeks ago and I've used it three times. I find it's effective for about 75% of the trub. I boil about a gallon more than I need and leave some in the kettle, that helps get the rest of the trub.

Have you considered a hop stopper? I have had mine for 10 years now and it still works great.

Thanks Guys, I picked up the false bottom today for $30. If it doesn't work as well as I want I'll get a hop stopper. I have used a variety of homemade hop stoppers which have worked well as long as they stayed in tact.
