Wit help

Post by Fishcoppop » Thu May 10, 2018 5:25 pm

Hey fellas,

I am in the process of creating my first wit recipe and I am looking to get my hands on some unmalted wheat. Anyone know where I could find some? I looked on OBK but couldn’t find any, or I may have overlooked it.

I know some people use malted wheat but I was hoping to try unmalted and true to the style. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

And yes I plan on doing two separate mashes due to the unmalted wheat, 6 row and oat flakes I’ll also be using.

Thanks!

You might be able to find it in bakery supplies instead of brewing?
Give a man a beer, and he'll waste an hour. Teach a man to brew, and he'll waste a lifetime.

Noble Grape carries raw wheat. Just call ahead to make sure the location you're going to has it in stock.

Noble Grape and Everwood both carry flaked wheat which you could use.
