Looking to pick up a pH meter - can anyone suggest one they've been happy with.

As of this morning Everwood is sold out of the one they keep in stock.

Pricing seems to be fairly wide for the meters.

I went through a couple of cheap $20 ones that didn't last long at all.

Then I got the Thermoworks 8689, it's in another league. It's been accurate and easy to use.

I recommend you pick up some of their calibration solution as well. You can make your own storage solution with the 4.0 calibration solution plus potassium chloride - recipe online but I used details for this metre to fine tune.

I’ve used Hanna meters for years...and...not just beers :rocky:

I bought a few cheap off brand ones and then I had the Hanna Phep 5 for years until it eventually needed an electrode replacement which seemed hard to track down in Canada for a decent price..
Based upon some fairly detailed reviews/testing over at HBT I got a Hach Pocket Pro+ which I find a lot better to use (settles out faster/etc).
pH meter's aren't exactly critical piece of equipment so I personally would suggest going without vs buying a cheap one.

I was using an Omega meter similar to the Thermoworks one Rob posted. It worked good for a while, but eventually became unreliable.

This is one Nash had on hand when I was having issues with mine - it worked really well:

Rumor has it the omega one is also the same as
General Tools & Instruments DPH7011 Digital PH Meter with RS-232 Output https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B001TOFRIG/ref ... aBb18NTCR0

Both are rated pretty highly from what I had read.
