Long Mash Unfiltered style

Post by bandarker » Tue Sep 25, 2018 8:49 pm

Hi guys,

I've been reading a bit about Nash's long mash for the Unfiltered SMaSH Double IPAs which are really, really tasty. I was thinking to try it out using a friends Grainfather.

Have you had any success with this on the homebrew scale? Any advice or lessons learned?

Thanks,
From a once Brewnoser now MontreAler,
Dan

I believe it's a long simmer before boiling as opposed to a long mash.

Fast Mash Nash! It is the long simmer.

Do a sour mash and a long hop steep at the same time!

Novelty, it’s an addiction.

I remember reading about it I think of the Hart and Thistle blog or site a few years ago, though my memory doesn't serve me well. I just know DOA is one of the best beers I've ever had.

Yup, there was a write-up on Nash's Hart & Thistle brewer's blog. Pretty sure it's no longer available.
