Just standard rubber compressed air hose... dirt cheap. The benefits I'm hoping to get out of it are:
- no kinking (this stuff has to be much more kink resistant than garden hose)
- somewhat flexible at cold temps (will be stored in my unheated garage often)
I'm not worried about food grade here, as it is just for my immersion chiller.

This rubber hose any good for my immersion chiller?

It's clear that Princess Auto needs to hire some home brewers to work the sales floor and answer questions like this.

I don't see why that doesn't work.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

just to confirm... you're using this to hook-up supply water to your chiller... right?
If so - then there's no hot water running through it (which could cause rubber break-down), and (assuming you never have any leaks), water will never get into your brew.
You should be fine.... just MAKE SURE that the rubber doesn't get into your brew (and the water doesn't leak.
I will, however, warn you to make sure you get the water out of it when you're done (so you don't have a pocket of H20 freeze in the line).
