Cleaning hop spider?

I bought a stainless hop spider from OBK awhile back and was excited to try it, but after a couple of brews (cleaning as well as I could in between) it clogged out so badly on the last one that it was literally left holding 2 liters of wort after the kettle completely drained. Zero flow. Tried scrubbing, blasting, oxyclean. That all helped, but there's a still a fair amount of brown material clogging up the mesh. Short of a pressure washer, any one have an magic tricks for getting these things clean? I am on the edge of just going back to bags.

Will give 'er a go. I have a bit of PBW, but it's pricey and the hop spider is such an awkward size that it requires a a lot of volume to soak.

Try Oxy Clean too. It removes some nasty build up.

Tried Oxyclean (including in very hot water), but doesn't seem to touch it. Work for the rest of my clean up needs.

Off topic - where are you folks buying Oxiclean free? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I get it at Superstore or Walmart. The no-name stuff works just as well.

Yeah a little off topic as well but I find with either hop spider, the stainless steel one or a bag I lose a lot of hop flavor. I get much better results without it but I know its a pain for cleaning and clogs.
Also my stainless steel one has been a pain in the rear to clean as well.
