Cheap and pretty Ikea "growler"

Post by jason.loxton » Sat Dec 29, 2018 8:19 pm

Bought four of these as an experiment the other day. They're really pretty and perfect for bringing to parties/giving as gifts, but the stopper is a hard plastic and I wasn't sure if they'd hold pressure. They do. Just opened a bottle that I filled on the 24th--responded with a refreshing "POP!". 1 liter capacity.

I got them for $2.50 each. Not sure if they're still that price...

Is there a seal on the plastic stopper?

The ones I have seen have a Teflon (ish) hard seal. Grolsh rings should fit.

They hold pressure fine with the stopper as is. It is a hard one, but air tight (at least so far).
