BeerXperiment - The Super Efficient NEIPA

So, trying an experiment today with a NEIPA.

The basic premise is that I am bittering during my 35 minute mash, only doing a 10 minute boil to pasturize, and then whirlpool steeping at 72 degrees for 30 minutes after flame out. The goal is to use as little energy and time as possible and still achieve a great beer...

Wish me luck! :headbang:

(I'll post my recipe, technique, results and maybe even pictures later!)

I’ve never done mash hooping before, but would it be like first wort hooping, with the lower ph? I forget how that works.

Yeah, I imagine it would be similar to first wort hopping... The difference is that I removed the hops after the mash. I think NEIPA is the perfect style to try this method.

Everything went well, hit all my marks. Brew took about 2-1/2 hours total including clean-up. Not too shabby...

I have gone to 1 hour mash and 1/2 hour boil with mash and first wort additions. Then only late hop additions. dry hopping on most beer too. Makes for a 4 hour brew day.
