Haven't used them myself, but I've had beer with made with them. No discernible difference. Really cuts down on wort loss to hop matter though, so if you're planning a big DIPA or something with a lot of hops and you want to get as much clear wort into the fermentor you can they're a good option
On tap: Hopped Mead, ESB, Schwazbier
Coming up: Altbier
Fermenting: Maibock
Planned: NEIPA, NZ Pils, Oyster Stout

Yes thats what I been reading too.....they also say the aromas you can get from them are unreal!! Mycrene gives a strong citrus smell! Much more then the hops themselves when you add after fermentation.

Yeah, I ordered some from Yakima Valley. Really couldn't tell much of a difference, other than I used too much too early and the beer turned out a bit on the bitter side. Having less loss was nice for sure.

So I got some extract made and had it tested in the lab! Has all the terpennes and oils still! I will do a double brew day and compare each brew! Going to be interesting! Smells unreal!! Hop shots are just alpha acid and this has all the terpennes taken out so I'm curious how this will work for dry hopping. Image

Butane extraction from the barb rouge pellets i had! Little different then the normal co2 extractors but with butane you can isolate the terpennes better because its not under as much pressure then co2. Had it tested in the lab to make sure it can be safe to add to the beer and it was! No hydro carbons left in the product so I'm interested to see the results!
