To squeeze or not to squeeze

Post by Nicarus » Sat Apr 10, 2021 12:14 pm

After the dry hop when your packaging do you folks squeeze your dry hop bag into the beer? A couple things I can think would be wrong with this would be adding oxygen into the beer and maybe grassy flavor. Some benefits would be hoppy goodness..

Not worth it imo. As you say there's risk of oxidation or infection, and after a few days the dry hops should be mostly utilized, so you'd get a little less volume loss but not anymore flavour or aromatics.

I don't. There's nothing really to gain and everything to risk
On tap: Hopped Mead, ESB, Schwazbier
Coming up: Altbier
Fermenting: Maibock
Planned: NEIPA, NZ Pils, Oyster Stout
