I brewed a milk stout 3 weeks to the day and it fermented at 20 oC during that time. I used 500g of lactose and mashed at 155….I took a gravity reading today and it’s at 1.030…that’s 39% attenuation and a 2.6% beer. My OG was 1.050…I knew the FG would be higher but DAM…I was shocked….left the hydrometer in my fermenterand will check the next couple days….to see if it drops…..could lactose have that much affect on FG to where it’s done

Yeah, that seems like it shouldn’t make that big a difference. Have you tried warming it up some?

I’m going to whirl fermenter a bit to arouse the yeast and will increase temp to see if this works….
