Distillation of liquid that doesn't taste quite right

Hi All--
I have a few carboys full of liquid that don't taste quite like I want them to, and am wondering if anyone has experience with distilling the liquid and keeping the end-product? I don't have a the gear to do it, but will probably put some feelers out to pals and see if I get any bites. Feel free to send me a PM/DM if preferred, I know distilled water is a pretty boring topic to fill up a thread with.
