Heat sticks

Post by Garak » Wed Feb 09, 2011 7:54 pm

I just got my 60L pot now I need a way to bring it to a boil. I'm looking at building a ~4000W 220v heat stick.

Has anyone found a way to seal the element into a pipe without using JB weld?

Any machinist in the group that could made up an adapter ring to allow the element to be screwed back into a pipe fitting properly?

I'd much rather not have to cut any holes into the side of my new brew kettle and I'd like to have the option of moving the heating element into keggle and/or HLT later on.
