5/16" hose barb for kitchen sink

Post by Garak » Sun Feb 13, 2011 4:16 am

Anyone know where to get 5/16" hose barb adapter that will screw on to the kitchen sink facet?

Its a standard kitchen sink facet with the threads on the outside. Anyone know what that thread is called?

Having had waterbeds for decades, I have a collection of waterbed hose adapters (at least 3), that will fit onto any faucet except our very odd current kitchen faucet. They don't have barbs, but they do have standard hose fittings. Of course, you're probably wanting to use this far more often than one would use waterbed adapter - they're soft plastic and not very durable.

go to your local hardware store (pierceys, home depot, kent, rona, cdn. tire, etc.)

In the plumbing section, you'll find fittings that will go on your sink faucet (tell them it's for a kitchen sink aerator).

You'll be able to find something that works, even if you need to do one more adaption to get to a 5/16 barb.

Worst-case scenario... there's always fairview fittings.
