Howdy,
I am very new to all-grain and started my first batch with my own equipment 12 days ago. I let it ferment in the primary for 5 days and had no issues that I saw, the SG was 1.012 on Oct-27, so I racked it to my carboy. My basement is cool so I left the beer belt on it until I checked it last night, see attached picture. I have done at least 20 Festa Brew kits and I have never seen this film of bubbles on the beer. Did I make a mistake to keep the beer at 24-25C after the first 5 days? Should I be concerned about infection or is this fairly normal and I should relax?
I can provide more information on the beer recipe and equipment if required, but figured I would spare the typing if this was normal or a simple problem.

Tough to tell, some fermentations look kinda weird but are just fine. Is there any more airlock activity happening?
Might be difficult, but if you could taste a bit without ruining the whole batch (maybe do it just before you plan on bottling), that's your best bet. And if the look of the stuff changes significantly, try to rack from underneath it?
My takeaway message, I say relax.

I agree with chalmers. If you are worried, and your SG is stable (so you don't end up with bottle bombs), I'd say get that bad boy into bottles and conditioning/carbonating so you can start drinking it. Tankhouse is a somewhat hoppy beer, so it's best enjoyed fresh anyway. That way if it does happen to be going south, you'll get to enjoy it before it does.

Relax....check, that makes me feel better.
There is no more activity in the airlock, the temp is down to around 16C. I am going to keg this beer, any reason to wait before getting this in the keg ASAP?

if you are paranoid about it, racking from underneath and leaving the surface stuff in the Carboy can't hurt, either.
