On the hunt for a freezer

Post by JohnnyMac » Fri Mar 11, 2011 11:18 am

I'm on the hunt for a good used chest freezer to convert to a lagering chest/kezeer.

I'm looking for one that can accomodate the footprint of (2) sankes on the bottom without having the compressor bump interfere, about 34 inches in length before the bump. I'm guessing that I need one in the 12 to 14 cubic foot range although I'm having difficulty finding inside dimension specs on the web. I'm going to add the standard 2x8 wood collar so I can add a couple of taps and finally mount my CFBS beer engine that's been sitting idle for more than a year.

Anyone know of anything about?

I saw an ad on Kijiji last week for one that was already partially converted for beer use.

Here it is: http://halifax.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell ... Z264824352

Thanks Sean - I did see that one but didn't think it would be big enough to fit two sankes on the bottom. I'll drop the guy a line to see if he can give me the inside measurements.
