Beersmith 2 issue

Post by canuck » Fri Apr 19, 2013 10:21 am

Very strange, but when I go to add a new recipe and add grain, it's completely blank and I have zero grain choices to choose from. I can add hops, yeast, misc, etc with no issues, but my grain list is completely blank. Has anyone ever come across this issue?

Any chance the "Show only items in inventory" box is checked and you don't track inventory in beersmith?

Edit: On a side note, does the group buy section still not work properly for you?

No, the items in inventory is not checked.

Yep, the group buy section works just fine for me now. :)

Are you showing only extract items?
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

Try going to an existing recipe and adding.

Unless your search has something in it.

Can you find the files on your computer that beersmith installed? There should be some directories containing files for each ingredient, check to see if the grains are actually there. Also, in one of the beersmith menus you can download / add-on ingredients, ie: Briess malts.

Yeah, I can locate the grain file, and when I click on it I see all of the grains listed like normal.

I had something kind of similar happen with BS1.4... take a look at the BS forums, or even just contact them by email. They (he, I guess?) was great at getting back to me promptly with a solution. Fixed it no problem.

Yup, uninstalled it, deleted all of the registry items, reinstalled it, and still the same thing. I loaded it on one of my other laptops without issue though. It's just bizarre.
