Yeast Farm

Post by KMcK » Sat Mar 26, 2011 2:11 pm

I've started one. I have American Ale, Czech Pils, French Saison, Irish Ale, and London ESB to trade.

Is the saison the 3711? If so I'll place an order for 5L of thick slurry. Let me know the eta!

I'm curious as to what you use for a setup? We're planning on starting our own little bank soon, just have a few more small lab items to pick up before we can get underway. I'm basing it mostly off Chris White/JZ's Yeast book and my roommate's Microbiology degree. Keeping it pretty simple to start but I'd love to know how you're going about it!

Jayme, I think you should take over the world asap. Then give me $3.7 million cause I make tasty beer that you can't taste flaws in because I cover them up with hops. Just sayin'.

I've got Kolsch 2565 & soon will have West Yorkshire Ale 1465 (its in the fermentor now). I'll gladly trade for the Saison, Pils or ESB.

I probably won't be in the city until the May meeting (fingers crossed), so if your inventory changes I'm ok with that. Of course by that time I should have Bavarian Lager 2206, and quite possibly Scotch Ale 1728.

Are you going to have a yeast lab in Burnside?

I have a lot of gear left from my yeast bank days. 100's of test tubes, glycerin, seperatory column...all up for grabs. Just want $20 to cover the cost of the big test tubes.

My dad's been telling me that for years. I'll add you to the list - so far I've got my dad for a new tractor and you for 3.7mill. Hell, why not make it an even 4 :D
