Useful supplier links

These guys are wholesale, they don't deal with individuals, last I checked anyway. But they will give you a local rep. The guy I dealt with was good, wasn't interested in a huge markup for homebrewers. Nice catalog of gear anyway.

Simgo does deal at the retail level.

Never used them, but those who have say great things.

Changed to an announcement, everyone can update as they come up with new suppliers. Let's try and keep it to links and descriptions only to avoid having to filter through the posts

I ordered some stuff from http://www.homebrewgearcanada.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. The guy was friendly, and the service was great. If I remember, shipping was quite a bit. I'd recommended them if you find something at a price you want, though.

I ordered some burners and a regulator for my all grain setup from these guys.
Price was good, shipping was fairly quick, and all brokerage/shipping charges are paid upfront. I would definitely order through them again.
http://www.norcalbrewingsolutions.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
My false bottom and hop stopper came from Jaybird on homebrewtalk.com, Norcalbrewingsolutions is his website.
Awesome service and product, he does custom orders to fit your equipment, shipping is cheap, and he uses USPS so no crazy brokerage fees.

Re: Useful supplier links
http://homebrewgearcanada.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I had my doubts after one order was really slow to be shipped out, but Spencer (owner) had been away on business. He really knows his stuff and is very accommodating.
http://ihomebrewing.ca/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Bryan (owner) gets orders out extremely fast. Don't think I've waited more than 4 or 5 hours at the most to receive my shipping notice after placing an order.
http://www.homebrew-supplies.ca/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is pretty inconsistent with service. I've had trouble with my last two orders missing items and Randy (owner) has been extremely slow to get the missing items out to me. To the point now that I'll avoid buying anything from him if at all possible.

Re: Useful supplier links
Hey guys, I'm headed south for a work trip and plan to have some stuff shipped to my hotel (you can do that btw, works great!). I'm thinking of ordering some hops from Farmhouse but they are out of a few that I want. Anybody have any other suggestions for hops at a great price (Farmhouse seems really good!) for "within the US" shipping?
Thanks

Re: Useful supplier links
Received word this week that http://homebrewgearcanada.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is closing up shop the end of the month. The owner, Spencer, is starting brewing school in the fall and doesn't have time for both ventures. Most things in the store are now on sale to clear things out, there's not a whole lot left however. I was able to snag some relatively cheap hops and some US-05 last night.

http://www.brewerspantry.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Spencer (owner) is exceptional to do business with. Very quick responses and shipping.
For online orders, I've always stuck with iHomeBrewing and Brewer's Pantry. Both are top notch.

I have made a number of purchases for my kegerator from Patrick Walker at http://www.ontariobeerkegs.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Him and his wife run their business out of their house in Mitchell, southwestern Ontario (outside London) Their claim is to be very competitive to anything coming out of the States, and I found this to be true, even after shipping. They have sent product to Nova Scotia.

Re: Useful supplier links
Had trouble finding the BIAB pot I wanted (i-homebrewing was out of stock at the time) and eventually found it on a Canadian gold panning and metal detecting site, best price I’ve seen and free shipping. It arrived within 10 days. I thought it was strange to find a beer pot on such a site. Not quite big enough for high gravity 10 gallon batch, I have to do a maxi-BIAB with a 2 gallon sparge for that, but I can go up to max 1.065 full volume mash. It was my second one, I now have 2 of them and mash in one and drain to the other from ball valve for boiling, saves pulling the bag and makes sparging and FWH easier if necessary: http://www.canadiantreasureseekers.com/ ... ail&p=1455
I wonder if Everwood Ave. would be interested in stocking them as I think they are really good and not overpriced compared to Blichman. They don’t mention on the site but they come with a nice stainless steel heat shield and they have easy to see volume markings on the inside. I don't like the sight tube on Blichman (cleaning and sanitisation concerns)
The picture below shows the markings in the 8 gallon version but the 16 gallon has the same markings.

Re: Useful supplier links
OBK has Styrian Goldings (my favorite and normally a very expensive variety) for $9.99 per 1 lb bag. They are fresh and vacuum sealed. Does anyone know of cheap hop sources for bulk leaf hops please? only place I can find them is Toronto Brewing Co.
Just seen Everwood Ave. has really good prices on pellet hops by the pound too. It's the leaf hops (flowers), I'm having trouble with.

Re: Useful supplier links
Brewer's Pantry carries a small amount of leaf hops, though not in bulk: http://brewerspantry.com/index.php?rout ... h=69_18_64" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Your best bet may be freshops.com or hopsdirect.com out of the US for bulk leaf hops.

Thanks. I really like the nitrogen sealed Hop Union ones and they have good reviews for freshness and aroma on the all the forums. I wonder if Everwood Ave. would ever get some in? I contacted the company before and I can't buy them direct.

I do know that for pellets if you want HU or HD to provide 1 lb sealed bags there is a premium, but it's possible.
