Re: Post a picture of your pint!
I was @ the Gahan tonight to meet up with a fellow beer man (and his new Mrs.) from New Hampshire tonight.
I thought it was worth noting that the Gahan's IPA is new & improved - bartender said they're trying it out unfiltered (I'd say just less filtered).
It's pretty much better in every way now (better flavour, more resinous, more aroma). Not quite as good as a Nash IPA, but I'll gladly take this improved ale.

Re: Post a picture of your pint!
I'm glad to hear that they're making some moves to improve their beer. I was a little worried that they were getting too complacent and would end up just fading out. I'll have to try and make a stop in there next weekend when I'm over and grab a growler.

It's freaking high 20's inside, and I'm drinking a fresh one of these. Ahh... everything's OK now.

Huh. It doesn't even have a name? I am a big fan of their Zoe, but did not know they had a generic IPA.

It's called "Lunch", after some feisty local fin whale. I called it good. The beer, not the whale.

Which recipe you used for this one? There are a few of them out there. Considering I only have one bomber left from the group buy, I think I'm going to have to make an attempt at a clone.mr x wrote:Arrogant Bastard.

Re: Post a picture of your pint!
I had hop devil for the first time last week, I brought back one from NYC when i was there. Excellent beer!mr x wrote:Chillin' while I was snowblowin' last week. One of my fav commercial beers.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
