Yeah, use those fittings on the 3way.

Do you see any issue with running it at ferm temp and letting it run through the jacket the whole time? The pump is going to run non stop anyway, so I'll just hook the refrigerant side up to the temp controller to keep the pump running when the compressor is off.

Wired up my spare STC to control the compressor on the chiller.

Ran the chiller down to 2 degrees to see how the chiller would handle near freezing temps with just water. I'm thinking if I do the continuous cycle through the jacket I might be able able get away without using glycol in the mixture. I wouldn't need to drop the temp below freezing, it would just be to whatever temp I'm lagering or cold crashing at.

I'm sure you know this, but just to say it anyway, I'd keep the cycle time from the STC at 10 minutes or more, if possible.

Yeah, I set it at 10 - I think that's the max isn't it?

Watch for the coils icing up, its hard to see and it can insulate them pretty well.

Nice.

Now for the not so nice. I'm not sure I'll be able to help with the solenoid. Something came together real fast, and I'm 65km South of Ft McMurray.

No worries man. I'm running it non-stop at ferm temp for now and seeing how that works.

Is that jacket insulated?

No. Having a neoprene jacket made to go over it.

Chiller seems to be working great with it set at ferm temp. The conical thermowell hasn't budged from 68, and it's under heavy fermentation right now. :spilly:

It's set with a 1* variance, an it turns on for about 3 minutes every 30 minutes or so.

Can't wait to downsize the workbench and put a countertop on it. Going to install a sink and move the brewing setup away from the electrical panel.

How is this thing working out? May consider one myself, just for space reasons....

I'm loving it. If you're back home at all and want to come over during a brew day or even a non brew day to check it out, feel free.

So you just put all the water in at once, no sparging?

I would but I'm a bit hammered at the moment. Making the most of my days off, lol...

Can you make a 15 gallon brew in there?

You could prob do a low gravity 15, or add a sparge. Its 90 liter total capacity.

Did you need to pay any customs/duty on this? What was the shipping charge?
