This Makes Zero Sense

Post by jason.loxton » Thu Jun 19, 2014 1:17 am

I love all the neat brewing products that are getting pitched on Kickstarter. This one... not so much. It just popped up in my Facebook feed. It is essentially just brew in a bottle, except that there's an unnecessary step where you can contaminate your beer by mixing your own ingredients. Oh, and it's in a big can. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/18 ... ew-customi" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

(I suppose that some people might like the ability to 'customize' their beers, but all they're going to be doing is mixing extracts into a bottle with malt extract.)

And this: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/25 ... nav_search" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Seriously? People have a problem with beer going skunky in the glass? Before they can down it? Huh.

Now THIS on the other hand is genius. Unrecognized genius. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ma ... nav_search" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Frat boys of the world rejoice!!! ;)

forget the frat boys that would be handy to have inline on a kegging system so you know what's left :rockin:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Hook it up to your keg system and we could have competitions on the fastest pour!

With the beer barrel system I would be worried about contamination issues, not to mention bad beer.
