Beer lines, where to buy?

Hey guys,

I want to keep my keg set at its proper PSI (12 psi) when I am serving my beer, so I think I need about 12 feet of beer line. Anyone know any shops that carry a 3/16th line that would be suitable for beer? I wonder if construction stores would carry something.

Thanks!

Ben

Noble Grape carries beer line but there is a shop in Burnside that Nash recommends but the name escapes me.

Stellar Industrial in Burnside, ask for clear food-grade :cheers2:

Yup, picked up some 3/16" clear food grade.. it doesn't have a 'thick wall' like the Noble Grape stuff but it was crazy cheap (like 18c a foot!) and seems to be working just fine for me!

FYI - I just called Stellar Industrial (in Moncton, but I'm sure their prices are the same).

3/16" ID food grade tube is $0.20/ft (beer line)
5/16" ID is $0.22/ft (gas line)

I don't know what NG charges, but Keg Connection is $0.49/ft & $0.59/ft (plus shipping). More than half price is worth a trip to Burnside (or Moncton for me).

Edit: OK, so maybe they aren't the same price, but in Moncton HST is 2% lower... :|

I'm pretty sure they'll have the thicker-walled stuff too. I asked a guy at work to get me some 3/8" tubing one time, told him to make sure it was foodgrade, clear and that I didn't want any cheap thin-walled stuff - he came back with some sort of urethane tubing that was something like $5/ft

Alright, thanks guys, my friend is going to stop in at Noble Grape today and pick me up some beer line. How do you guys usually tell what length of line to use? I have a 2 foot line, but it seems to foam the beer up quite a bit when serving at 14psi. Totally new at this, thanks!
