Grain mill

Hey All,

I picked up a bag of maris otter on one of the grain orders, not really thinking about the fact that it wasn't crushed. Probably for the best anyway since taking the leap to all grain took longer than expected - getting my kegs functioning took precedence, haha.

Just wondering if anyone here might be able to let me use their grain mill? (Preferably letting me use it in your place, since i've never used one before, but otherwise by lending it to me.) I will definitely bring some brew to repay the favour!

if no one is able to next week, maybe after I make it to my first meeting, in July. Then I'll actually know some of you, haha.

Tim and I are brewing tomorrow at my place and he's bringing his mill. If you care to join us, e-mail me.

if you're really stuck... you can always bring your grain to NG and use their mills (no charge for it)

I honestly assumed they would charge me - I was looking on their price list and it said "bag prices add $10 for crushing" - i figured if i brought in my own grain, they'd charge me

Thanks for all the offers guys! I don't have time today, and then I'm gone for another week, but I will likely hit one (or some) of you with a PM then!

They might charge for a whole bag, but before I bought my mill I used to take my 2-row in to NG in Burnside to crush. They didn't seem to mind as long as I was buying the specialty grains, hops, and yeast for the batch I was brewing at the time. I think the crush as the Burnside store might be a little coarse though. I seem to get a finer crush and a higher efficiency with my barley crusher (set to factory spacing).
