We have company coming over to use our spare bedroom/my fermenting & conditioning area.
As to not have my BIL put up with my set-up I was thinking of using the laundry room for fermentation/conditioning. The room does tend to heat up a when the dryer is used - should I hold off until our company leaves and resume brewing in the spare room or are the temperature fluctuations/people periodically going in and out of the room ok for the beer?
I was thinking too I could insulate the exhaust duct for the dryer as to minimize heat transmission to the room.
As always, thx in advance.
Using the laundry room.

Re: Using the laundry room.
Temperature fluctuations are not ideal, but unless you are dumping the hot air directly in the room, I wouldn't expect the temperature of the beer itself to be greatly altered.
What is the typical ambient temperature? I'd do a test the next time you are using the dryer: fill a growler with water the morning of/night before, and measure the temperature immediately before turning on the dryer, and then right after. How much does it change?
