Malt Mechanics Conical Fermenter Kickstarter

Post by MaltMechanics » Wed Feb 03, 2016 7:38 pm

Hi Brewers, we are a small New Zealand company that has just yesterday launched a Kickstarter campaign for our conical fermenters https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/16 ... me-brewing" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; please go and check it out, and if you have any questions at all please ask. Thanks!

Nick

I did look and all looks great. I fear the shipping from NZ may double (or more) our cost.

Good luck. I hope you get the funding and have a Canadian distributer.

yeah, I'm worried that by the time the cost of shipping comes into play I could just buy an all-stainless one from SS-brewtech.

Do you have any suggested ways of cooling these aside from buying a full sized fridge for each fermenter?

Ever wonder why these things seem to be cheaper elsewhere, i.e. other Countries?
Why brew beer I can buy?

Hey All, our shipping is a flat $50NZD to Canada (we will be sending from the US), the only other charges you may incur are any duties payable, which we cannot account for. Thanks

Sorry, re cooling, a fridge is the only way we have done it, but home brewers are always finding new ways to hack things. We feel that is the most cost-effective way, the other method being pumping through a coil etc but the cost and complexity starts adding up using this method. Thanks

Neat product. I have one bit of feedback: The attachment screws for the legs seem to produce four unnecessary extra points for potential contamination. Why not change the design in future iterations to allow a smooth, holeless interior by either molding external attachment sites or creating a steel ring that the unit slides into, rather than screws that pass through the tank? (That's assuming I am interpreting the design correctly!)

It looks like there are nuts molded into the tanks so that the interior is smooth (a slight bump maybe, but smooth and seamless).

Hi Jason, thanks for the comment and compliments. Yes as Jimmy mentioned the inside is indeed smooth and penetration free. Any other questions please feel free to ask, thanks
