Just curious, since I can only get Festa Brew kits from 1 seller here, what price tags people are seeing? Last I recall they were 40, but I think have gone up to $45.

Aaand did they release a seasonal "pilsener" while.. having a pilsener in the regular line up?

The pricing around here is 44.99 for most kits. I believe the double outmeal stout and Ipa are 49.99. I believe seasonal kits run $50-55. The y did come out with a seasonal chech pilsner for the past couple of years that I know of along side the continental pilsner from the regular line up.

Yeah, the continental pils is a German style rather than a bohemian or whatever.

$45 to $55 right now, but the wholesale price is about to jump significantly, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a price increase across the country in May or June.

Seems to me that anything beer related, ( grains, hops or equipment ) seems to be going up lately.

the Canadian dollar has been lower since the start of 2015. Prices for a lot of retail/wholesale goods change slowly when the dollar moves because supply contracts are negotiated well in advance. We are now seeing the effect of the dollar starting to pop up all over the place. Even goods produced in Canada will go up in price because the relative price that manufacturers can get in the US went up.

Late to the picnic but Noble Grape's last price was ~$45. I stockpiled a shitpile of Czech Pils (great stuff), Cerveza, and even have a Bock left over. Switched to all grain (Grainfather) and still have a few Everwood extracts to cook. The Czech Pils is excellent - close to the real deal apparently - and better than Urquell.

I might grab a czech pils just to fill a keg the lazy way... But I think Theresa would murder me considering I have 50 lbs of pils malt in the house (but no saaz!)

Also of note, is that Everwood Dave carries Festa as of my last visit...early March.

Maritime wine and beer has festa too now. You really can get them wherever is most convenient (which I would recommend. They are heavy fuckers)

Great news about MB&W, they only had the brewhouse stuff before. I like the owner too. Everwood is top notch for me but its far (sorry Dave!)

I like that festas have gotten so ubiquitous despite me never being able to justify buying one with my malt stash because they're my go to for noobie recommendations - lets you 100% focus on getting fermentation/sanitation and packaging down before worrying about making your own wort so you can kinda add steps batch by batch... And the big thing with the festas is because you don't dilute you don't even have to worry about your tap water quality if you are on a well or whatever (less of a concern for my friends on city water)

I just picked up a "Best Case" kit to test my new kettle/burner/chiller setup, by doing a full volume extract batch without the added step of doing a mash. The one I picked up was $6 more that the same one I purchased a month ago. Hopefully it will be my last.

I do most of my brew shopping at Noble Grape in Halifax (always great service). When I first started brewing (about 9 years ago) the 'Best Case' kits you used to be able to get a basic ale kit for 29.99 (they were not called best case when they came out) ..... The prices have jumped around quite a lot since then - last time I checked I think they were like 36$ for the basic ale. The Coopers kits were actually 14.99 when I started now they are 19.99 (5$ increase over 9 years isnt too shabby). I think the price of malt extract and and 'can-add-a-brew has stayed pretty level. It may have went up $1 a tub over the years but not very much. Packages of Nottingham Yeast used to be $2.99 now it is $3.99. I think (memory is not great) the Festa Brew kits were about 40$ when I started brewing now they are like 45$. I started brewing because I thought paying 17$ for a dozen beer was absurd....... I still brew because now I feel paying $23+ for a dozen beer is just as absurd.
