Cape breton grain purchasing?
So far I've been getting my grains at noble grape in halifax. I live in Cape Breton and Im wondering where anyone in cape breton has been getting their grains and hops? Noble grape will ship for 10+$ depending on weight, is there a better place I can order from because they seem to have very reasonable and competitive prices on alot of things.

Everwood Ave Brew Shop is also available, although I can't recall what his shipping rates are.

I visited him for the first time a couple weeks ago at the shop when I was in Halifax. Great guy and selection, I bought a pound of Nelson Sauvin from him. I guess I was hoping for somewhere that could ship me bulk grains with free shipping...

Try Jason Spears at Grape and Grain, Port Hawkesbury Mall. That is where I get most of my supplies. Really knowledgeable too and his prices are similar to grapes.

I am making trips the next 2 months. Order and depending on the volume we should be able to get your stuff to you.
The group buy is on.

Re: Cape breton grain purchasing?
Hi Rob. I keep some grains and hops in the shop in Port Hawkesbury. I always try to have a couple of bags of 2-row, pilsner, Maris Otter and wheat. I don't move enough to set up wholesale accounts, so I just buy from Bestcase wholesale at a bit of a discount and sell it at the same price that Noble Grape charges.
I am trying to get some malt from Horton Ridge in stock. Stay tuned.
If you can wait until I bring in a stocking order (usually once per month) I can get you any ingredients you want from Noble Grape and will not charge you shipping.
We carry a good selection of dry yeast and have some liquid yeasts from escarpment labs plus all the regular homebrew supplies.
Cheers
Jason
