FYI Shipping issues

Post by Graham.C » Wed Dec 19, 2012 9:30 pm

For those of you without facebook.

Patrick just posted this
I had a gentleman send me an email last night very upset about how his malt extract had been ruined in transit and effectively soiled his order with a sticky messy clean up. I was baffled at how our 4mm thick double sealed bags had been ruined and even more perplexed that the 2mm heat sealed bag that we double wrapped them in was also broken open. I of course apologized and sent out an express post replacement first thing this morning. If you are this customer I am very sorry your experience was like that. That customer complaint was worded so strongly I believe I lost that customer for life and I can not repair the bond.

It seems the past few weeks we have had a few complaints and this was a few complaints too many. So today after I dropped the parcels off at the post office I went around the corner and watched. A W.S. Bell Cartage truck was at the Mitchell post office dock. As I walked up the alley I saw boxes easily five feet from the dock level loading themselves onto the truck. There was literally a hang time before you could hear the thunk of them colliding with who knows what.

I called the truck company. Someone who Identified themselves as "Safety" did not even express concern. I was just given a blunt "I will talk to the driver". There was no questions asked or any empathy. Seemed just like another phone call.

Tomorrow I will most likely write something a little neater up and start sending it to various papers. Once I have had time to settle down. Right now I am just so furious that I have to drive to a different location and the next closest one is a one hour round trip.

At first I was not sure if I should post a problem like this on our Facebook page and make the customers aware. It only took me a few moments to make up my mind. I will of course no questions asked replace out of my pocket any items that arrive damaged. We are looking for a very fast solution to this problem and want to assure you all we will take responsibility for your orders. We value you too much to treat you any differently.

Regards,
Patrick

Sorry to hear about the issues, Patrick!
I'm sure pictures or video would go a long way. Did you contact the post office?

No videos. I thought about bringing a camera but honestly was not prepared for what I did see. There was a verbal altercation with the driver that would have been censored from a porno after I saw it.

I can not stress enough that orders will arrive 100% perfect or corrected. You will not have to deal with Canada Post if have a problem.
