I bought a bag of northern brewer if anyone wants some. It was 40 bucks for 11 pounds shopping in. If trade for the other varieties as well

Now that i'm brewing smaller batches i try to grab hops as fresh as i can, 2012 is starting to get up there in years!

I've used these before and haven't had any issues. I think being in the original packaging (nitrogen filled and mylar) makes a big difference.

trevor i'd buy 1 pound of NB off you for sure. will be up next weekend (could truck some back to hfx if others wanted any)

In my experience the difference is noticable if you are using them for dry hops / flameout and there is no real difference for bittering hops.

Last summer i brewed back to back batches of my IPA, 5 gal for me and 5 for a friend and in the batch for my friend i used all my old 2011 hop union hops that i bought when i first started brewing and in the my batch i cracked fresh hops from dave. You could definitely tell the difference in the two batches but there is also normal year to year variation in the hops and the fact that they were from different suppliers. Not sure where Dave gets his citra but it probably isn't hop union.

The batch i brewed for myself was the one that won gold in the National Capital Homebrew fest, the other batch never got sent to comps but it is too bad i didn't get my buddy to send it in as it would have been interesting to see the different comments (if any)

They're 3.65 each (40.19/11) but if you want to toss in the difference to 4 bucks a pound I'll vacuum seal them for you when I get them

A few points of order:

1.) McKay - I have your element housing from Bluenose that I'll drop with Steve.
2.) Do any of the Truro boys need PIN LOCK disconnects? I have 4 sets to give to anyone who might need them.
3.) Steve. I'm taking the pot down to you. I was in contact with Dave and he'll be bringing my new 19 gallon pot to the meet after 10:30 I believe. I also have a pound of EKG hops

so we've got

2# for Hub Brewer
2# for Woody
1# for Liam
2# for me
1# for Bluenose
1# for amartin

That means we have 2# up for grabs at $4/lb.

Either I sell these or I make one fucking huge Northern Brewer IIPA, lol

How is the hop pipe line going to work to get these? I thought they might be in prior to the grain buy but see that's not the case. Trevor are you going to be in Truro anytime soon?

I can't say no to that price, not even to hops that I can't see any immediate use for. I'll take a pound, maybe it can go in my next porter. Are you in HRM, and if not, is anyone else from here getting any?

i can run em back to halifax, i could get them to truro as well if someone were able to meet me at the irving by the highway on my way by (on sunday evening ish)

also it probably makes sense for me to just pay trevor cash for these, then get cash from you guys on delivery. save an EMT fee on something so small.
