March 31st - Brewnoser Rye IPA tasting
Some of us have been looking at getting together after the Garrison Brew-Off to taste all of our rye beers. Would you guys like to propose some dates that would be good for? Particularly the out of town guys who might want to make the trip if we can work out a good date. So remember to save a few beer.
Anyone interested, post in this thread.

I'm interested, but I'm local, so any date would be good with me. I think this one would be better than some of the other contests, where it's fairly open to interpretation so we'll probably have more variety.

I would like to be in this. If its a Friday or Saturday I can probably make it work with enough heads up.

I'd likely do this -so long as yesterday's brew turns out okay.I'd guess that most dates can be made to work.

Doesn't matter how you think the beer turns out. It up to others to determine how bad you suck. Heeheehee. Just save a few bottles. Is anyone interested in the weekends right after the Brew-off?

Haha - how bad I suck or how bad this beer sucks?mr x wrote:Doesn't matter how you think the beer turns out. It up to others to determine how bad you suck. Heeheehee. Just save a few bottles. Is anyone interested in the weekends right after the Brew-off?
In any case, I meant turns out as in nothing terrible happens to it - I'm a little upset it's fermenting at my buddies place. It's a hard job trusting someone else with your beer like that

I'm In.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Re: Brewnoser Rye IPA tasting
Should we look at the weekend of March 23rd or 30th?

What would be better then, the Friday/Saturday right after, or the the next weekend?

Having herded cats, I mean organized large meetings many times, I think it's better to ask for all the days people are available, not just when they'd prefer to meet.

Re: ATTENTION ALL - Brewnoser Rye IPA tasting Poll
I think this gets us to the same point. It's going to happen and it's going to be majority rules. Not really any other options. Already looking good for the 31st, which is fine for me, even though I voted for the 24th, lol.

Re: ATTENTION ALL - Brewnoser Rye IPA tasting Poll
Nah, all you're getting is people's preferred dates, not when the most people can make it.

Re: ATTENTION ALL - Brewnoser Rye IPA tasting Poll
Preferred is when they can make it, and I assume most people are going to enter the date they want, not their second choice, and majority will rule. If that's not true, i can't imagine how their decision making got them to drinking age...

Re: ATTENTION ALL - Brewnoser Rye IPA tasting Poll
No, preferred is only one of four potential dates that people can make. The most popular preferred date is not necessarily the date that the most people can make.
Majority rule only comes into it if you're willing to cancel if less than 50% want the most popular date. Currently only a minority wants the most popular date.

Then you should have just posted that to start with rather than polling.
