Nice work you guys!

Thanks!GuingesRock wrote:Congratulations Kirsten and Keely. I think I said before I thought you’d be in there, actually I think I said you might win it. You did a lot of work researching it. Brand spanking new brewers too …that’s awesome (and very impressive). I’m so pleased. Yay!
Many congratulations also Roger. I looked up your previous posts and I see you have been brewing for 17 years and are involved in a new brew pub. I bet that's going well.
I learnt a lot about weizens, thanks to this competition, and I would never have even thought about brewing one otherwise.
Thanks Garrison and the judges that helped them.
Actually I'm no longer brewmaster of the brewery in Nackawic. I couldn't drive an hour away brew a batch then drive back for free. The owner said he couldn't afford to compensate me for the travel back and forth. No Mater I kept the pilot brewery that I built and paid for and it makes great beer!

Re: Garrison Comp
So, tomorrow's the night! I'm sure there will be a great turnout of brewers and friends, to hear the big announcement, plus be the first to try Peter's Belgian Blonde winning beer from 2013.
For anyone not able to attend, I could offer my services as an impartial courier (I promise not to peek) for scoresheets/t-shirts.
I know there were some people on here who were looking for extra tickets. Does anyone have an extra ticket they'd be willing to pass on to fellow Brewnosers? (By pass on, I mean you can tell the person at the door that you are John Q Public's plus-one)
See you down there, and good luck to the four finalists!

Re: Garrison Comp
Thanks redoubt! I know at least one Brewnoser mentioned it last night, hopefully they'll be in touch to confirm with you.
(I get in for free on account of my super handsomeness, so it wasn't me looking for one)

Our extra ticket has been claimed. Hopefully there are other extra tickets out there for other Brewnosers who want to go. Looking forward to seeing/meeting lots of you folks!

Re: Garrison Comp
I've got an extra "ticket"
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
