What time do the festivities last until for the Gala? Wife was wondering when I'd be stumbling in.

That is a fluid answer, much like the beer you'll be enjoying. It'll probably still be going at 10 or later, if memory serves me.

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I probably won't be showing in until 7:30. Wife won't get home until 6:30 and need to catch the bus in. If things change I'm in.

Re: Garrison Comp
The winner is Jason McDougall. The awesome thing is that I have been chatting with him lately about homebrewing since I just joined his department at Dalhousie (Pharmacology) as an Assistant Professor. Even better now that I know he can brew like a champ! He was telling me the just other day about his new conical!

Oh, and I think all of the judges made it out alive, so no major complaints about the judging. But I am happy to answer any questions about the beers I judged, either here by PM or email.
