You can host a homebrew comp with no bjcp judges if you want.

Do you think it's worth going to all the effort of entering such a competition? or even this competition? Would the score sheets be of any value?

You could just get some friends around and see what they think. Would be more fun.

I just got my medal, sheets, and a few prizes.

Reading over the sheets, my IPA had "too much grapefruit citrus"! I shit you not. :)
