Am I missing it somewhere, or are they only asking for one bottle?

I had to look hard but the rules page says two bottles. No mention of it on the bottle acceptance page. Poorly written, IMO.

Sent from the brew timer.

Registration close: Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 5:00 PM, MDT.

Entry packing at my place Thursday evening over a few beers?

We can fit 9 entries in a Staples 12x12x12 box. If we need to we'll go bigger.

Tonight. I'm expecting Tim and Andrew so far. LeafMan, are you still in?

I also have an 18x12x12 box if we need larger. As usual, it will be about $10 per entry to ship.

Not in for this one - didn't have time to prepare.

The package was sent first thing on Friday, cost $9.59 / entry. Using this method going out west is good, you gain a half a business day since you're going west, and the package moves over the weekend.

Thanks, guys! These competitions aren't getting any easier! I'm happy that RIS won something, for sure.

Why is that Rob? Are there more entries or are brewers getting better.

Congrats again.

Thanks again peeps.

Yes, the number of entrants to each competition is going up. Also, from the look at my scores (you can see your own on their website in this case) the judging was really hard. I scored low 30's except for my RIS which only got 36.5. I say only because I truly feel that's a 40+ beer and has the potential to win a Best Of Show. My other entries are another Stout, an IPA, and Bohemian Pilsner. Stout and IPA are huge categories and not only do you have to do everything right, but stars must align in order to win. Judging is still subjective. Not complaining, that's just how it is.

Looking forward to the next one. Too bad I had a fermentation chamber die, it's slowing me down and now I'm all fired up to brew again.

Good job to all who entered. It's tough to go through all the effort and come out empty handed. Even I'm feeling a little dissapointed. Now to pour myself another RIS. :)

If it's any consolation Rob, the one beer I sent got 20.5 (it shows on the site next to your entry). That's way lower than anything I have ever got. I have 17 score sheets in my folder, and only one was less than 30 (27) and they go up to 38.

Admittedly it was one of my beers that I was experimenting with salts and acid malt. I sent it in for feedback, but there is no way it's that bad. I like it and It's really popular around here.

Like you say, your stars need to be lined up.

:cheers2:

I just checked out the site, to see if the judges were qualified, and it says:
Each flight will have at least one BJCP judge
Ah Ha!

Shouldn't all the judges be qualified ???????

A Brewnosers competition would have BJCP judges and would be well organized. It's time guys ...please :)

:cheers2:
