So apparently the judging was this past week/weekend... But we won't find out who won until mid-August!

They extended the deadline for receiving entries to the 24th, would they still have judged them that soon? I'd have figured they'd give them a week to settle after shipping.

Maybe they're anticipating a large number of entries, so they'll judge those that arrived first first?

I'm just impatient!

I'm one of those people who want results fast! Let's just say I'm surprised my beer ferments as long as it does...

Congrats! I see Andrew Martin on there as well, great job guys.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Thanks! When i did this batch i pulled about 25% of the boil volume out after 80 minutes and let it steep in a bed of hops, then continued the boil for another 10 minutes with the remaining 75% of the batch. Then i merged the two parts and let it sit on the hops for another 5 minutes before cooling. When i was trying to think of a name i figured that was appropriate.

Cool, interesting concept. Did you dry hop or get enough aroma from the steeping?

I dry hopped as well with cascade and citra. One oz of each.
