School me on what's required to enter this?amartin wrote:They passed their 300 mark. I just signed up, and my two entries are 559 and 560.
-4 bottles of beer
-Pay entry fee
What information do I have to submit? Recipe? Category I'm entering?
Anyone else still thinking about entering this?

Register online, and enter your beers there. It'll ask for the category, and depending on that, it may ask for additional information (specialty beers, fruit beers, alternative grains, etc.) They you pay, print off your labels, pack it all up and ship it out. I've been bubble wrapping them in shipping boxes from Staples and Fedexing it out a week before with three days shipping.

What did your FedEx shipment cost for this one, and how many bottles were in the box?

I'm sending it out tomorrow, but they usually cost about $10 for every two bottle entry.

Definately will be hard for the judges in the final rounds. 1 entry per category is alot. If I had the time to brew and the extra cash to send off, brew of the year could probably be won in this comp alone if you took the majority of categories.

Isn't there another competition attached to this one...the peoples choice? I don't see the results for that out yet.

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
