FedEx for three entries from the Dartmouth location in Burnside was $15.71 for three day ground. It's cheaper because we're shipping to a business instead of a residence. If anyone else can get there, the deadline is Tuesday.

Thats an awesome price.

I shipped my entries to the NCHBC via fedex when i was still at work and it was fairly cheap as well. I wasn't sure if it was the company discount or just the improved pricing.

It looks like the Fedex in St John's is open until 6PM so i'll try taking the brews there Monday after class and see if i can't ship out via fedex to save a few $$

Sadly Fedex ground 3-day is everywhere in Canada except Newfoundland... i ended up having to ship air and had to shell much more.. live and learn!

Welcome to the rock, lol  I still think you will learn a few more things before you are finished here

Good luck guys. Keep in mind that quite a few of the guys you were competing with on the other comps won't be entering this one due to the fact there are no points awarded toward the Canadian Home Brewer of The Year award. Not saying you won't have competition... just not a lot from the western clubs. We have a lot of brewers that will enter this one that don't enter the western ones.

Good luck to all who enter. Cheers

Congrats Guys!

I can't wait to get my scoresheets back and see the write up on the 8A i used a different yeast this time (West Yorkshire) and changed my hop addition. I'm curious to see the comments.

Congrats Mark and Mark!

I've been using the West Yorkshire yeast for all of my English ales since the spring. It doesn't seem quite as attenuative as some others, but I'm liking the flavour, and it's easy to top crop as well.

Thanks,

I use the West Yorkshire in my Blonde ales and others. Blondes are supposed to be slightly sweet.

Looks like the mailouts arrived today for this comp, it seems that they collapsed a few of the categories.

I haven't seen my score sheets yet i asked Martha to scan them for me (they shipped to Saint John i'm still in St John's until saturday)

Pretty cool!
