Weighed out my grain, hops and water additions for this, I will say one thing. Having no kids around helping really improves your efficiency haha.
This looks like it is going to be a tasty beer winner or not. I've pulled out a great hop for this beer.

Do we know where the Halifax drop point will be? I figure I'll be running around for the beer exchange on the 22nd it would be a great opportunity to drop off my entry in the city. :cheers2:

Milling my grain as we speak. Going to get up at 5am tomorrow to mash in.

Mine is in the fermenter. I've been pouring off a bunch of samples for the past week or so lol. I'm surprised at how much I enjoy it.

I had been hoping to be the drop point, but I might be out of town due to work that week (at least after Tuesday). I'll get back to y'all.

Was chatting with Chalmers and I've offered to be a drop off point. I'm in the north end up by the community college on Leaman St. Most evenings I can be around, though it'd be good to check with me for availability. I'm not going to post my number on the board, but feel free to PM me and I'll give you details.

Can a Dark American Wheat still fall under BJCP 6D guidelines? Or is BJCP a "this and this only" type of competition?

That's what I thought. Thanks.

Out of curiosity, what style would a dark american wheat be? Is there an "Other" category?

It wouldn't be a Dunkelweizen, as that is more weizen yeast driven (think banana and clove). Dark American Wheat, that's a toughy. Maybe American Amber or Brown, depending on SRM. Is the wheat very present? There is an "Other", Specialty style 23. You are asked to define the base beer, and then the specialty ingredient(s), so the Am Amber style, with Wheat, would probably work nicely.

When and where is the judging for this? I don't mind helping organize so you can judge, Chalmers.

Ok. Found the date of judging. Do we need a venue? I won't be around Jan 15 but I can help the 29th.
